Indonesia and EU Officially Establish EU Desk at Investment Ministry

JAKARTA — The Indonesian Government and the European Union have officially established an EU Desk at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). EU Ambassador to Indonesia, Denis Chaibi, explained that the EU Desk focuses on the renewable energy, automotive, information and communication technology, electronics, logistics, agriculture, and fisheries sectors.

Danantara to Receive US$7 Billion in Dividends, 80% of Portfolio to Be Invested Domestically

Jakarta - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) Rosan Roeslani has revealed the amount of dividends the sovereign wealth fund is set to receive. This year, he estimates dividends will reach US$7 billion, or approximately Rp120-150 trillion. According to Rosan, the funds will be used to drive growth in the real sector.

JAKARTA - Investment and Downstreaming Minister/BKPM head and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has revealed that 80% of Danantara’s investments will be placed in Indonesia, whilst the remaining 20% will target overseas investment projects. Rosan explained that Danantara’s presence would boost foreign investor confidence in investing domestically, as the government, through Danantara, would offer opportunities to participate in domestic investment projects.

The General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS) of PT Pertamina (Persero) has appointed a new Board of Commissioners for the company. Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Todotua Pasaribu has been named Vice President Commissioner of Pertamina. Danantara Trust Fund to Channel Investments into Health, Education and Sanitation

JAKARTA - Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani revealed that investments in the health, education and sanitation sectors will be channelled through the Danantara Trust Fund. Between 1 and 2.5 per cent of state-owned enterprise (SOE) dividends will be set aside by Danantara for allocation to the Trust Fund.

Pari Island Residents File Environmental Lawsuit Against Marine Spatial Utilisation Permit

Residents of Pari Island in the Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta, have filed an environmental lawsuit with the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) against a Marine Spatial Utilisation Conformity Approval (PKKPRL) issued by the government. The company constructing a tourism project at sea under the permit is feared to be damaging the coastal ecosystem of Pari Island. Khaerul Anwar, legal counsel from the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH Jakarta), said the lawsuit aims to annul the PKKPRL.
