One of the boats caught fire in the shooting, he said, adding that police recovered two rifles and nine rounds of live ammunition from the boats.

He said the sell-off is expected to be conducted by the end of this year.

Steady Safe gets loans JAKARTA (JP): Land transportation firm PT Steady Safe has received syndicated loans of US$100 million from 20 overseas banks arranged by Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation, Singapore. Steady Safe said in a statement over the weekend that the interest rate of the loans was set at 1.7 points above the Singapore Inter-Bank Offered Rates. The agreement on the loans was signed in Singapore Thursday.

Asamera finds oil JAKARTA (JP): Asamera Oil Ltd, a subsidiary of Gulf Canada Resources Limited, has struck a new oil reserve in the wildcat Pijar-1 of its Corridor Block production sharing contract area in South Sumatra. The state-owned oil company Pertamina, which has a 10 percent interest in the Corridor Block, said in a statement over the weekend that two zones on the Pijar-1 well had been tested.
