MANILA (AFP): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) said it had
approved a total of US$70 million in soft loans to Cambodia for
major projects.
The largest loan, totaling $30 million, would support the
Cambodian government's agricultural reforms, including the
introduction of new technology, better access to agricultural
inputs and improved food sufficiency.
A technical assistance grant of $1.5 million would help the
government prepare reform measures for the agricultural program,
the bank said in a statement issued from its headquarters in the
Philippines.
Another $20-million loan would go to a project to strengthen
basic health services in Cambodia through improved management and
private sector involvement, the ADB said in a statement.
