IPTN employee says corruption report cost job BANDUNG (JP): An employee of the state-owned aircraft manufacturing company IPTN believes he has been sacked for blowing the whistle on alleged corruption by his superior. Asep Rukmana, 35, who headed the company's Bandung-based bureau of technical administration, reported to the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute office in Bandung yesterday that on Wednesday he received a letter from IPTN informing him that from Monday he would no longer have a job.

The bank, incorporated with the developer, gave me an attractive low interest rate of 16 percent for the first year with the condition that in the second year it would go up according to the yearly interest rate. Murdered Japanese tourist cremated SURAKARTA, Central Java: The body of Norio Wakaoji, a Japanese tourist found murdered in a hotel in Prambanan, Klaten, on Monday was cremated on Thursday. The relatives of Wakaoji flew his ashes home to Japan yesterday, Antara reported. The agency reported that the cremation took place at Tiong- Ting crematorium in Kentingan, Jebres, Surakarta. Five-day week ineffective AMBON, Maluku: Mayor Yohannes Sudiyono has decided the city's civil servants will resume working on Saturdays, concluding that the five-day week was not working after more than a one year trial, Antara reported yesterday.
