Maid's mother recalls nightmares

JAKARTA (JP): The mother of one of the two servants slain in a robbery attempt on Jl. Tebet Barat in South Jakarta recalled having nightmares before the killing happened on Thursday.

Maisaroh's mother, Siti Rochyana, said she dreamed of losing her sandals in a big flood.

Earlier, she dreamed her paddy field was destroyed by a plant disease.

"The dreams were probably signs that I was to lose my second daughter," Rochyana told reporters at the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital morgue yesterday.

The 38-year-old mother also said that recently crows frequently flew above her house in South Lampung, Sumatra.

She had asked her husband, Syamsudin, what he thought her nightmares and the crows might mean, but he could not answer.

A few days afterwards, she received written notice from the police of her daughter's death.

Rochyana was at the morgue to pick up the body of Maisaroh, 17. Her parents plan to have her buried in South Lampung. (04)
