Dollar falls against euro, up against Asian monies SINGAPORE (AFP): The US dollar was lower against the euro and higher against the yen and Asian currencies here on Wednesday, soaring against the Indonesian rupiah in particular, dealers said. Dollar-yen trade was rangebound, with the dollar closing at 114.80 yen, up a touch from 114.76 on opening, while the euro closed at 1.0700 dollars, up from the opening level of 1.0692 dollars, according to rates provided by Banque Nationale de Paris.

IKIP Ujungpandang now university UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: The Teachers Training College of Ujungpandang has been upgraded into a state university and is now called Makassar University, an official said on Monday. Forex reserves up to US$16.21 billion JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's net foreign exchange reserves increased slightly, by US$99.7 million to $16.21 billion, in the week ending on Aug. 6, from $16.11 billion the previous week. The central bank said in a report issued on Wednesday the increase was mainly due to the disbursement of $107.1 million in loans from Japan. Net foreign reserves were now well above the IMF-adjusted target of $14.3 billion, the bank said.
