IKIP Ujungpandang now university

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: The Teachers Training College of Ujungpandang has been upgraded into a state university and is now called Makassar University, an official said on Monday.

The new university will have at 63 undergraduates and 10 postgraduate programs, said Baharuddin, chairman of the team in charge of introducing the changes.

He expressed hope the new status would help the school improve the quality of its students and graduates. (30/edt)
