S'pore to buy RI gas SINGAPORE (AFP): Singapore is to buy piped natural gas from Indonesia under a landmark agreement to fuel the island state's power needs, chemical and petrochemical industries, news reports said yesterday. A consortium of Singapore companies signed a preliminary pact on Wednesday with Indonesia's state-owned oil corporation Pertamina to supply natural gas here via a 480-kilometer (298- mile) underwater pipeline, the reports said.

A group of singers stabbed to death a student of a private technical school and injured two others on April 24. Junaedi Hamzaris, 16, a student from the nearby PGRI aviation technical high school, died and his two friends, Toto Sulistiono, 18, and Purba Hismidaulika, 17, suffered head injuries.
