From Republika
Referring to a reader's letter in the April 16, 1997 edition
of your paper titled National Archives should store film
documents, we would like to explain the following:
One of the duties of the Indonesia's National Archives is to
store a treasury of documents, audio visuals, cartographics, and
even drawings. Visitors, from all government departments, the
private sector, scientists and the general public, who desire to
know more about what is stored at the National Archives, are to
enter the side of the archives in the reading room.
We apologize to Mr. M. Amaluddin M. from Bandung. At the time
you came, the film collection was being put in order. This
involved a lot of time, which was the reason that we could not
satisfy your request. In principle, the film library at the
National Archives is open to the public, as long as the terms and
procedures of the institute are followed.
We thank you for your comments and suggestions.
