Mitsubishi halts oil exports TOKYO (Nikkei) : Concerned over a possible oil shortage in Japan, Nippon Mitsubishi Oil Corp. recently halted exports to other Asian countries and the U.S., company sources said Friday, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported. The company sees stable domestic oil supply as paramount at a time when the U.S. is likely to take retaliatory measures in response to Tuesday's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, the sources said.

City to move dumping site JAKARTA (JP): An official said Saturday City Hall will not only dispose of garbage at dumping sites outside of the city but will process it instead into organic fertilizer. City Sanitary Agency Head Saksono Husodo said the step was taken following Tangerang's opposition to its plan to develop a 100-hectare land site in Ciangir, Tangerang, as a replacement for the Bantar Gebang garbage dumping site in Bekasi.

Street vendors need monitoring From Warta Kota I am concerned as well as annoyed whenever using Jl. Gajah Mada, particularly near the shopping area under the Glodok flyover. The VCD vendors take up most of Jl. Pinangsia Raya for their businesses and simply ignore the public interests. Furthermore, the trading activities obstruct traffic. My concern has been made even greater because the vendors dare to include pornographic VCDs among their merchandise.
