Japan's car makers to keep Indonesian assembly operations JAKARTA (JP): Japan's automotive manufacturers said on Wednesday that they would maintain the operation of their assembly facilities here despite the recent removal of tax breaks given to vehicles with high local content. Hiroyuki Nakamura, deputy general manager of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA), said maintaining the existing assembly facilities would make their cars more competitive.
