SBI rate falls to 18.84% JAKARTA (JP): The interest rate on the central bank's one- month deposit notes (SBI's) fell at the weekly auction on Wednesday to a weighted average yield of 18.84 percent, from 20.34 percent last week. The central bank, Bank Indonesia (BI), absorbed Rp 12.75 trillion (about US$1.9 billion) at the SBI auction, BI said in a statement. The above absorbed amount was about 91 percent of the total bids submitted to BI.

From which village I don't know. I have in my possession a Kitab (manuscript) with the names of my ancestors and the island. The information was passed down from generation to generation. They came with the Vrenigde Oost Indische Compagnie (VOC), the Dutch shipping company, in 1743 and brought Islam to the region.

On female president
On female president The debate about the possibility of a woman being Indonesia's president has become a prolonged debate in society. Further, I refer to Mr. Wisdarmanto's letter of June 22. I would like to comment on this matter as follows. 1. In analyzing the teachings of Islam we must always refer to the Koran and Hadiths. REI proposes plan on debt restructuring JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Property Developers Association (REI) provided on Thursday a debt restructuring proposal to the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA), in a bid to prevent liquidation of debtors' property assets at fire-sale prices. Company spokesman Toto Suparto said the pipeline, used to transport crude oil from the oil fields in the area to Pertamina's oil terminal in Buatan, Riau, was too old to function properly.
