UNS Accepts 3,624 Students via SNBT 2026: Check Most Competitive Programmes and Independent Selection Schedule
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Surakarta has officially admitted 3,624 new students through the 2026 National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) process, with results announced simultaneously on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Prof Sutarno, Head of UNS’s Student Selection Office (SPMB), detailed that the admitted students comprise 300 in Diploma Three programmes, 363 in Applied Bachelor’s programmes, and 2,961 in Bachelor’s programmes.
For the 2026 SNBT pathway, UNS offers a total of 11 Diploma Three programmes, 12 Applied Bachelor’s programmes, and 75 Bachelor’s programmes.
“During the 2026 SNBT, UNS received 91,611 programme applicants, placing it second among Indonesian public universities in terms of applicant numbers,” Prof Sutarno stated.
The overall competition rate for UNS’s SNBT pathway is 3.96%. Notably, UNS’s D-4 Occupational Safety and Health (K3) programme ranks first nationally for highest number of applicants, while D-4 Anaesthesia Nursing is sixth nationally.

In the Science and Technology (Saintek) category, Pharmacy leads with a 2.13% acceptance rate, followed by Industrial Engineering (3.10%) and Medicine (3.14%). Other highly competitive programmes are Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Food Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Psychology, and Environmental Science.
In the Social Sciences and Humanities (Soshum) category, Digital Business is the most competitive at 2.57%, followed by Communication Science (2.95%) and Management (3.14%). Other programmes in the list include Accounting, State Administrative Science, Mandarin Language, English Literature, International Relations, Guidance and Counselling, and Sociology.
Applicants who did not secure a place through SNBT can apply via UNS’s Independent Selection (SM-UNS) 2026, with registration open until 2 June 2026.
In addition to existing programmes, UNS offers new and specialised programmes in the independent selection pathway, including a Bachelor’s in Japanese Language and Culture, Islamic Economics and Finance, and an Applied Bachelor’s in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
International Class pathways are available for Medicine, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Management, Accounting, and Development Economics, with registration closing on 2 June 2026.
Regarding SNBT fraud, it is rooted in social pressure, extreme competition culture, and educational quality disparities.
SNPMB Chairman Eduart Wolok noted that approximately 186,000 independent selection quotas remain available across public universities for prospective students.
Dr. Machya Astuti Dewi, MSc added that the Mining Engineering programme in the Science and Technology Bachelor’s category is the most competitive with a 3.42% acceptance rate.
For the SNBT pathway, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) admitted 2,857 new students, with its Vocational School being the faculty with the highest applicant interest.
