        "content": "<p>Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Surakarta has officially admitted\n3,624 new students through the 2026 National Test-Based Selection (SNBT)\nprocess, with results announced simultaneously on Monday, 25 May\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Sutarno, Head of UNS\u2019s Student Selection Office (SPMB), detailed\nthat the admitted students comprise 300 in Diploma Three programmes, 363\nin Applied Bachelor\u2019s programmes, and 2,961 in Bachelor\u2019s\nprogrammes.<\/p>\n<p>For the 2026 SNBT pathway, UNS offers a total of 11 Diploma Three\nprogrammes, 12 Applied Bachelor\u2019s programmes, and 75 Bachelor\u2019s\nprogrammes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the 2026 SNBT, UNS received 91,611 programme applicants,\nplacing it second among Indonesian public universities in terms of\napplicant numbers,\u201d Prof Sutarno stated.<\/p>\n<p>The overall competition rate for UNS\u2019s SNBT pathway is 3.96%.\nNotably, UNS\u2019s D-4 Occupational Safety and Health (K3) programme ranks\nfirst nationally for highest number of applicants, while D-4 Anaesthesia\nNursing is sixth nationally.<\/p>\n<p>The top 10 most competitive programmes at UNS for SNBT 2026\ninclude:<\/p>\n<p>In the Science and Technology (Saintek) category, Pharmacy leads with\na 2.13% acceptance rate, followed by Industrial Engineering (3.10%) and\nMedicine (3.14%). Other highly competitive programmes are Electrical\nEngineering, Informatics, Food Science and Technology, Mechanical\nEngineering, Civil Engineering, Psychology, and Environmental\nScience.<\/p>\n<p>In the Social Sciences and Humanities (Soshum) category, Digital\nBusiness is the most competitive at 2.57%, followed by Communication\nScience (2.95%) and Management (3.14%). Other programmes in the list\ninclude Accounting, State Administrative Science, Mandarin Language,\nEnglish Literature, International Relations, Guidance and Counselling,\nand Sociology.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants who did not secure a place through SNBT can apply via\nUNS\u2019s Independent Selection (SM-UNS) 2026, with registration open until\n2 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to existing programmes, UNS offers new and specialised\nprogrammes in the independent selection pathway, including a Bachelor\u2019s\nin Japanese Language and Culture, Islamic Economics and Finance, and an\nApplied Bachelor\u2019s in Information Technology and Artificial\nIntelligence.<\/p>\n<p>International Class pathways are available for Medicine, Civil\nEngineering, Chemical Engineering, Management, Accounting, and\nDevelopment Economics, with registration closing on 2 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding SNBT fraud, it is rooted in social pressure, extreme\ncompetition culture, and educational quality disparities.<\/p>\n<p>SNPMB Chairman Eduart Wolok noted that approximately 186,000\nindependent selection quotas remain available across public universities\nfor prospective students.<\/p>\n<p>Dr.\u00a0Machya Astuti Dewi, MSc added that the Mining Engineering\nprogramme in the Science and Technology Bachelor\u2019s category is the most\ncompetitive with a 3.42% acceptance rate.<\/p>\n<p>For the SNBT pathway, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) admitted 2,857\nnew students, with its Vocational School being the faculty with the\nhighest applicant interest.<\/p>",
