The Fate of Neta V II Owners: Difficult Servicing, Scarce Spare Parts!
DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - Many new brands from China have entered Indonesia. However, not all have succeeded, one of which is Neta, which went bankrupt in China, impacting its business in Indonesia. Gregorius, the owner of a Neta V II, actually took advantage of Neta’s closure in Indonesia by buying the car at a bargain price of only Rp 185 million. So, what has his experience been like maintaining a car whose manufacturer is uncertain in Indonesia? According to him, the official workshop network that is no longer operational means owners must depend on partner workshops. “Everything has been redirected to Otoklix and its partner workshops. But you can’t just show up; you have to make an appointment first,” Gregorius told Kompas.com on Tuesday (7/4/2026). He explained that this queuing system occurs due to the limited equipment for battery checks. The scanner for inspecting battery condition is only available in limited quantities and is used on a rotational basis across several workshops. “There’s only one scanner, passed around between workshops. So we have to register first, then get a schedule,” he said. Another challenge he has faced is service refusals. When trying to do a 5,000 km periodic service, he said he was initially refused. “It was rejected at first; they said there was a payment issue between the relevant parties (Neta and Otoklix), so they couldn’t accept the service yet,” he said. Because of that, he eventually chose to do a paid service at another workshop. Although it required paying out of pocket, this step was considered more practical than waiting for the uncertainty.
