NasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh has officially launched the party’s Ramadan Safari Team, commanded by NasDem deputy chairman Saan Mustopa. Paloh said the event also serves as an opportunity for organisational consolidation and strengthening fraternal ties.

“The intention is simultaneously to carry out organisational consolidation during this holy month, to strengthen fraternal bonds, and to reinforce our faith and devotion to God Almighty, carrying the shared mission of uplifting one another’s spirits during the holy month of Ramadan,” Surya Paloh said at NasDem Tower in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/2/2026).

“So that together we may enter this holy month, carry out our worship with a spirit of trust and submission, whilst maintaining a firm and resolute spirit of optimism within ourselves — which will ultimately generate positive energy to continue participating in building this nation and country that we love,” he added.

Paloh said the first city to be visited by the Ramadan Safari Team would be Bekasi. He noted that the team would conduct visits over approximately 16 to 20 days.

“I hereby officially declare the Ramadan Safari Team launched and on the move as of today,” he said.

Paloh stated that the team would carry out its safari across Java and Madura, adding that the visits would include direct meetings with community leaders.

“Of course we will greet the public, meet with community figures, exchange ideas, and build optimism. That is a good thing. I believe the intentions are sound,” he said.

Paloh noted that rising food prices are also a concern for the Ramadan Safari Team. He personally saw off the team’s departure.

“Certainly, that is a shared concern of ours. We continue to hope that ease upon ease must remain accessible to the wider community,” he said.

Furthermore, Paloh denied that the safari was being conducted to shore up internal support following the departure of members to other parties. He suggested that individuals may simply experience fatigue and need a change of scenery.

“There is no issue there. Perhaps they were simply weary. People need refreshment. But the most important thing is how we must continue to make meaningful contributions. We must provide tangible benefit through our presence — whether as individuals, groups, or institutions such as a political party,” he said.
