Supporting PP Tunas, TelkomGroup Creates Safe Digital Space for Children
Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, emphasised the importance of digital literacy, technology ethics, and collaboration among all stakeholders in realising a safe digital space for the younger generation, in line with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic System Operators in Child Protection (PP TUNAS).
This was conveyed by Meutya Hafid while attending the Open Senate Graduation Session of Telkom University for Period II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, held at the Telkom University Convention Hall in Bandung on Saturday (25/4). The Minister’s presence was accompanied by the President Director of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), Dian Siswarini, and the Director of Wholesale & International Service at Telkom, Budi Satria Dharma Purba, who were welcomed by the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Suyanto, along with his staff.
This graduation moment is seen as a strategic point to strengthen leadership values, digital ethics, and readiness to face industry challenges. Through adaptive, innovative human resources with superior digital literacy, Indonesia is expected to be increasingly prepared to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
In her speech, Menkomdigi Meutya Hafid stated that Telkom University graduates, as part of an institution that is the heart of national digital and innovation efforts, are not only equipped with academic degrees but also with a moral responsibility to help navigate Indonesia’s digital future. She emphasised that the younger generation plays a crucial role in the nation’s sustainability, including supporting the creation of a safe, healthy, and equitable digital space as mandated by PP TUNAS.
“This knowledge equips you not just to follow the flow of digitalisation, but to boldly take steps to play a role as drivers and to create value by expanding the benefits of technology and strengthening the nation’s competitiveness, especially in the digital field,” she said, quoted on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
She added that the current digital space challenges are not only about accelerating technology but also the increasing misinformation and various cyber risks. Therefore, the role of the younger generation is very important as agents of digital literacy in society.
“I must convey that misinformation is not just a local issue, but a global challenge according to the World Economic Forum 2025. Wherever you are in the future, become guides for digital literacy in your respective areas. The government cannot work alone; we need you to be guardians of truth amid this flood of information,” the Minister stressed.
