JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that the deadline for submitting the Annual Income Tax Return (SPT PPh) for individual taxpayers (WP OP) will be extended until 30 April 2026.

Previously, the deadline for individual taxpayers’ SPT submissions was set only until 31 March 2026.

Purbaya stated that this extension aligns the individual taxpayers’ SPT reporting deadline with that of corporate taxpayers, who also have a submission deadline until the end of April 2026.

The extension of the reporting deadline is being implemented amid reporting achievements that remain below target. To date, the number of SPT submissions recorded is only around 59.1 percent of the 15 million SPT target.

In detail, SPT submissions from individual employee taxpayers reached 7,826,341 SPT. Meanwhile, individual non-employee taxpayers recorded 863,272 SPT submissions.

From the corporate taxpayer side, submissions in rupiah denomination totalled 183,583 SPT. For entities using US dollar denomination, the number of submissions was 138 SPT.

For this category, the number of submissions reached 1,549 SPT for entities in rupiah denomination and 21 SPT for those in US dollar denomination.

The extension of the SPT reporting deadline is expected to provide additional space for taxpayers to fulfil their tax obligations. This is also related to various ongoing changes in the tax administration system.

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has recorded significant progress in activating accounts in the new tax administration system, Coretax.

From that total, 15,677,209 came from individual taxpayers. Meanwhile, the number of corporate taxpayers who have activated Coretax accounts is recorded at 955,508 taxpayers.

In addition to individual and corporate taxpayers, Coretax account activations have also been carried out by government agencies. DJP recorded 90,411 government agency taxpayers who have activated accounts in the system.

On the other hand, there are also Electronic System-Based Traders (PMSE) taxpayers who have activated Coretax accounts. The number recorded is 226 PMSE taxpayers.
