MPR Awaits Official Letter
The MPR RI respects SMAN 1 Pontianak’s decision requesting that the 4 Pillars LCC Final at the West Kalimantan provincial level for 2026 not be rematched. Currently, the MPR is still awaiting an official request letter from SMAN 1 Pontianak.
Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno, stated that his side had received the Principal and Vice Principal of SMAN 1 Pontianak at the MPR building on Thursday (14/5/2026). The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the MPR Hidayat Nur Wahid, Chairman of the 4 Pillars Socialisation Agency Abraham Liyanto, and MPR Secretary General Siti Fauziah.
“The Principal of SMAN 1 along with the Vice Principal stated that internally, SMAN 1 has accepted the results as decided, with them as second place winners, and they support SMA Sambas to represent West Kalimantan at the national final,” said Eddy to reporters on Friday (15/5/2026), as reported by detikNews.
Eddy said his side had asked SMAN 1 Pontianak to submit an official letter regarding the input. Later, he said, the official letter from SMAN 1 Pontianak will serve as the basis for decision-making.
“As the organisers of the LCC, we are awaiting SMAN 1 to also send (the letter) officially to the MPR, so that at the MPR we can deliberate the decision and make a new decision to certainly fulfil what is requested by our friends at SMAN 1 based on the request letter they send,” he stated.
Eddy appreciated the presence of the Principal and Vice Principal of SMAN 1 Pontianak at the MPR building. He said his side had agreed to foster the spirit among the students of SMAN 1 Pontianak.
“We respect and appreciate what has been decided by SMAN 1, especially their statement that SMAN 1 will support SMA Sambas to advance in the final,” he said.
Previously, it was reported that the 4 Pillars LCC MPR RI at the West Kalimantan level became the focus of public attention after going viral on social media. Debate arose because the judging panel gave different scores to two participants’ answers deemed to have similar substance.
The event was held in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5/2026). Many social media users highlighted the ‘articulation’ reason used by the judges to differentiate the participants’ scores.
As a result, Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman, issued an apology for this incident. He also stated that an evaluation would be conducted. The event host and two judges, who were also MPR officials, were deactivated.
“Regarding the widespread media reports on social media about the 4 Pillars LCC 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level, concerning the assessment of participants’ answers in one of the competition sessions, the organising committee from the MPR General Secretariat has deactivated the Judging Panel and MC for this LCC event,” read the MPR statement.
A female student from SMAN 1 Pontianak, a participant in the MPR 4 Pillars LCC, Josepha Alexandra, expressed thanks for the support given by the public. The student, nicknamed Ocha, said the support from the community motivated her to be more enthusiastic and develop further. Ocha was also offered a scholarship to study in China by the Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, M Rifqinizamy Karsayuda.
