Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani revealed that 88 victims of the train accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL at Bekasi Station were taken to hospital. Several of them have now been able to return home.

“Regarding the victims I mentioned earlier who were admitted to hospital, there are 88, of whom 28 have already been discharged,” Rosan said while visiting the victims at Bekasi City Hospital on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

Rosan stated that more than a dozen victims have already passed away. He also expressed condolences for the incident.

“Naturally, first and foremost, we are deeply saddened by the train accident that occurred last night, and as we know, there are victims, including 15 who have died,” he said.

Rosan directly visited the victims being treated in the inpatient ward at Bekasi City Hospital. He assured that KAI will take full responsibility for covering the treatment costs for the victims until completion.

“Naturally, the government, in this case KAI, will take full responsibility for the current costs, health costs, and other costs related to this accident,” Rosan stated.

Furthermore, Rosan emphasised that Danantara will conduct an evaluation for KAI. According to him, the evaluation will be carried out jointly with relevant ministries.

“Naturally, we will evaluate comprehensively and also conduct an assessment of Kereta Api Indonesia together with the relevant ministries and agencies to ensure that safety is the utmost priority in operating the trains in Indonesia,” he said.

On the other hand, Rosan mentioned that the flyover construction project at the incident site will be carried out as soon as possible. This effort is aimed at preventing similar incidents from recurring.

“It will be implemented as soon as possible, and this is a swift step from the President to ensure that such incidents never happen or are allowed to recur,” he added.
