Reasons for Advising Returnees to Travel Back on 25–27 March, Kemenhub Explains
The Ministry of Transportation is urging Eid returnees to undertake their return journeys during the Lebaran return flow on 25–27 March 2026. This appeal is intended to prevent traffic density during the peak return period. The recommendation was conveyed by the Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, while monitoring the security for the night of Takbiran for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H at Polda Metro Jaya. To prevent a buildup of travellers on those dates, the government is providing safer and smoother return travel options by utilising 25, 26, and 27 March. Aan emphasised that this appeal is purely aimed at easing vehicle density. With a more even distribution of journeys, road conditions are expected to be more conducive, allowing the return flow to proceed smoothly. He also mentioned that the National Traffic Corps has prepared several traffic engineering scenarios to anticipate surges in vehicle volume. The same sentiment was expressed by the President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A. Purwantono. At the Jasa Marga Management Training Centre building, Rivan stated that the peak return flow is estimated for 24 March, with a second wave on 28–29 March.
