Prudential Syariah strengthens access to Islamic protection for society
Jakarta — PT Prudential Syariah Life Assurance (Prudential Syariah) has committed to strengthening public access to Islamic protection-based insurance, which is currently considered to have low penetration rates.
Chief Customer Marketing Officer of Prudential Syariah, Vivin Arbianti Gautama, stated in Jakarta on Saturday that amid growing trends in Islamic financial literacy, the challenge of financial inclusion remains a significant task.
According to the Financial Services Authority’s 2025 National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK), Islamic financial literacy increased from 39.11 per cent in 2024 to 43.42 per cent in 2025, whilst inclusion rose marginally from 12.88 per cent to 13.41 per cent. However, Islamic insurance penetration has yet to reach 1 per cent.
“This situation underscores the importance of innovation and expanding access so that more people can benefit from Islamic protection-based solutions,” said Vivin.
Going forward, the company will continue to present protection solutions that are genuinely relevant to various customer segments, expand protection access through multiple distribution channels, and ensure that every solution offered truly addresses participant needs rather than merely following trends.
“It is not simply about introducing new products, but rather delivering targeted, inclusive, and affordable protection,” said Vivin.
She noted that the company received recognition at the 2026 Indonesia Sharia and Halal Top Brand Awards, winning the award for Indonesia Best Sharia Life Insurance 2026 with Inclusive Protection Solutions through Continuous Innovation in the Sharia Life Insurance category.
The company continues to innovate by developing products aligned with customer needs and maximising distribution channels through more than 80,000 business partners and marketing agents across Indonesia.
Regarding company performance, Vivin noted that until the third quarter of 2025 (year-to-date), Prudential Syariah’s total contributions grew 7 per cent to Rp2.9 trillion compared to the previous period.
