Police Raid Online Gambling Den in Hayam Wuruk: Polri Warns Against Indonesia Becoming a Hub for Online Gambling
Bareskrim Polri has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating gambling practices in Indonesia following the dismantling of an international online gambling (judol) headquarters in the Hayam Wuruk area, Taman Sari, West Jakarta.
The Director of General Criminal Acts (Dirtipidum) of Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the uncovering of the judol case in Hayam Wuruk is part of Polri’s efforts to prevent Indonesia from becoming a breeding ground for online or conventional gambling syndicates.
“With this uncovering, it is hoped that Indonesia will not become a hub for online gambling. And the Indonesian National Police is committed to eradicating criminal acts of gambling,” Wira told reporters in the Hayam Wuruk area, West Jakarta, on Sunday (10/5/2026).
“Because this is very detrimental to society and can harm the national economy,” Wira added.
In the uncovering of the judol case at an office building in the Hayam Wuruk area, Bareskrim Polri arrested 321 individuals suspected of being involved in the international-scale judol operations.
Of that number, 320 are foreign nationals (WNA), while one is an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
The hundreds of foreign nationals are currently being held in several detention houses and immigration detention rooms in West Jakarta and Kuningan, South Jakarta, to undergo further examinations.
In addition to processing the suspects, the police are still delving into the network’s structure and the parties suspected of controlling the judol operations.
Previously, it was reported that Bareskrim Polri uncovered an international online gambling practice at an office building in the Hayam Wuruk area and secured 321 individuals suspected of involvement in the operations on Saturday (9/5/2026).
Of the 321 people secured, 228 are from Vietnam, 57 from China, 13 from Myanmar, 11 from Laos, five from Thailand, and three each from Malaysia and Cambodia.
