Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) recorded oil and gas production reaching 956 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD) in the first quarter of 2026, indicating that the performance of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding remains stable.

Corporate Secretary of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, Hermansyah Y Nasroen, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that the production consisted of 494 thousand barrels of oil per day (MBOPD) and 2.75 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of gas.

In addition to stable production, performance in the first quarter of 2026 was also marked by continuously increasing operational activities.

“Exploitation drilling activities reached 130 wells, demonstrating ongoing efforts to maintain production levels,” he said.

Furthermore, as part of the strategy to optimise production in existing fields, workover activities were carried out on 261 wells and well services on 6,124 wells.

In the exploration sector, up to March 2026, 8 exploration wells had been drilled.

Seismic survey activities also continued, with realisations of 2D seismic along 0.09 km and 3D seismic covering 914 km², to support the discovery of new resource potential.

These exploration efforts resulted in the discovery of 2C resources amounting to 6.7 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE).

Meanwhile, there was also an addition of proven reserves (P1) of 3.4 MMBOE, which serves as a positive indicator in maintaining the sustainability of national energy supply.

Hermansyah stated that these achievements reflect the consistency in implementing operational and exploration strategies.

“Performance up to March 2026 shows a positive trend, both in terms of production and the addition of resources and reserves. We continue to drive the optimisation of existing fields while accelerating exploration activities to ensure long-term production sustainability,” he said.

Furthermore, Hermansyah emphasised the company’s commitment to maintaining the performance momentum until the end of the year.

“We will continue to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, and leverage technology to support the achievement of production targets and the discovery of new reserves,” he added.

These achievements also reflect PHE’s commitment to maintaining production performance while strengthening the foundation of energy reserves for the future.

“Going forward, various optimisation and exploration efforts will continue to be intensified to support national energy resilience,” Hermansyah stated.
