Rumours of a fuel price increase to Rp 17,000 per litre circulating on social media platform X have been confirmed as untrue. PT Pertamina (Persero) emphasised that the information does not originate from the company and no official decision has been made regarding fuel prices as of 1 April 2026.

Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that the circulating projections of fuel price hikes are not accountable.

“Information on fuel price increase projections circulating cannot be held accountable; to date, there has been no official announcement regarding prices as of 1 April 2026,” he told detikcom on Monday (30/3/2026).

Baron advised the public not to easily believe unverified information. He requested that the public access the company’s official channels to learn about fuel price developments.

“Obtain valid Pertamina fuel price information only through official channels at www.pertamina.com. Pertamina supports the government’s call to use energy wisely,” he said.

ESDM: Non-Subsidised Prices Await 1 April

Meanwhile, Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Laode Sulaeman, stated that the official announcement of non-subsidised fuel prices will be delivered on 1 April 2026.

“For non-subsidised fuel, we just wait until 1 April,” Laode told detikcom.

He explained that non-subsidised fuel prices follow global oil price movements. However, subsidised fuel prices are confirmed to remain unchanged.

“The important thing is that there will be no increase for subsidised fuel,” said Laode.

For information, Pertamina produces non-subsidised fuels such as Pertamax (RON 92), Pertamax Turbo (RON 98), Pertamax Green (RON 95), Pertamina Dex (CN 53), and Dexlite (CN 51).

Meanwhile, subsidised fuels, namely Pertalite, remain at Rp 10,000 per litre and Solar (Biosolar) at Rp 6,800 per litre.

Laode also assured that the availability of fuel and LPG is safe and adequate. The public is asked not to make excessive purchases.

“Fuel and LPG stocks are very safe and adequate, so avoid panic buying,” he said.

Previously, on social media platform X, information circulated projecting non-subsidised fuel prices as of 1 April 2026. In one post, it was stated that Pertamax prices in April were estimated to reach Rp 17,000 per litre.
