PAM Jaya Simplifies Customer Registration to Achieve 100% Service Coverage Target
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT PAM Jaya is simplifying the registration process for residents to become customers of the clean water service managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s regional-owned enterprise, as an effort to realise the 100% service coverage target.
“PAM Jaya is ready to take proactive steps to assist residents who wish to register as customers,” said the South and Central Regional Manager of PAM Jaya during a Citizens’ Dialogue event held by the Jakarta Citizens’ Community (Komwaja) together with PAM Jaya in Jakarta on Thursday.
He stated that PAM Jaya is providing various facilitations for prospective customers to register as new subscribers to the drinking water company.
He detailed that residents only need to prepare their ID card and Family Card (KK) matching their domicile so that the supplied water can be targeted appropriately.
Furthermore, if there are residents who have difficulty preparing their ID or KK, his side will provide accompaniment assistance at the sub-district office,” he said.
PAM Jaya also offers online registration services by filling out and uploading the provided form on the official PAM Jaya website, which will then be verified and surveyed by officers.
He added that his side also provides very affordable tariffs. Even for residents with buildings under 70 square metres, the water cost will be waived.
Meanwhile, for buildings under 100 square metres for lower-middle-class residents, the tariff is set at Rp1 per litre.
“And for buildings over 100 square metres, the tariff is Rp35 per litre. We consider this tariff very affordable for residents,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Wibi Andrino, stated that access to clean water for residents is a basic need that must be fulfilled in Jakarta as a global city.
“The role of the legislature will oversee policies that favour the people, one of which is access to clean water,” he said.
Meanwhile, community figure Amirullah hopes that the clean water issue for Jakarta residents can be resolved soon with PAM Jaya’s 100% coverage achievement.
Especially given the polluted water conditions in Jakarta and the threat of land subsidence in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Jakarta activist Dedy Jaya Saputra welcomes PAM Jaya’s steps targeting 100% clean water service coverage in Jakarta.
He reminded PAM Jaya to also increase its water supply capacity, so that the water delivered to residents can run smoothly.
“Currently, the capacity owned is only 30,000 litres/second. If you want 100% service to customers, the capacity must be increased twofold. Especially for supplying water to high-rise buildings,” he said.
