Majalengka DKP3 Ensures Sufficient Subsidised Fertiliser Stock for MT II
Majalengka (ANTARA) - The Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office (DKP3) of Majalengka Regency, West Java, has assured that subsidised fertiliser stocks in the area are in a safe condition to meet farmers’ needs during the implementation of the second planting season (MT II) in 2026.
Head of DKP3 Majalengka Regency, Gatot Sulaeman, in Majalengka on Wednesday, stated that the availability of the fertiliser has been prepared in accordance with the allocation set for this year.
He mentioned that the subsidised fertiliser allocation in Majalengka Regency includes 36.4 million kilograms of Urea, 28.514 million kilograms of NPK, 56,000 kilograms of organic fertiliser, and 354,000 kilograms of ZA.
“For MT II, we assure that the subsidised fertiliser stock is in a safe condition and sufficient for farmers’ needs,” he said.
According to Gatot, the amount is deemed sufficient for farmers’ needs during MT II, so fertiliser distribution is expected to run smoothly.
In addition to ensuring fertiliser availability, his side also urged farmers to accelerate the planting process to anticipate the potential for a prolonged dry season.
He said this is based on predictions from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which forecasts that this year’s dry season will last longer.
“As an effort to meet water needs, we, together with the River Basin Organisation (BBWS), have coordinated to anticipate it,” said Gatot.
He also conveyed that the local government has distributed assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) in the form of water pumps to farmer groups.
DKP3 is also coordinating with the agricultural extension worker team in Majalengka to provide guidance during the planting season.
“The guidance is expected to help farmers manage planting patterns and fertiliser use optimally,” he said.
Previously, his side recorded rice production from farmers’ harvests in Majalengka reaching 204,261 tonnes of unhulled rice from a harvested area of around 31,253 hectares from January to March 2026.
