Let Eid Be The Light, Supporting Qur'an-Memorising Children
Jakarta — The Harvest, a dessert retail company, has launched a social programme titled “Let Eid Be The Light” to provide support and motivation to children memorising the Qur’an during Ramadan through to the approach of Eid al-Fitr 2026.
The programme features joint breaking of fast activities and distribution of alms packages to orphans and Islamic students undergoing Qur’anic education at several foundations. The initiative is hoped not only to serve as an occasion for gathering and strengthening social bonds, but also to inspire children to continue learning and memorising the Qur’an.
Sylvia Andriani Rizal, CEO of PT Sentra Aktaha Horeca and head of The Harvest, stated that the campaign emerged from the company’s reflection on the importance of sharing happiness during Ramadan.
According to her, products such as cakes, biscuits, and hampers produced by the company have traditionally been associated with moments of joy and celebration in people’s lives.
“When looking at our products like cakes, biscuits, and hampers, they are all closely connected with happiness. People typically purchase our products to celebrate important moments in their lives,” said Sylvia on Monday 9 March 2026.
Through the “Let Eid Be The Light” programme, the company seeks to broaden the meaning of happiness by introducing social activities that benefit children undertaking Qur’anic education.
On this occasion, the company also symbolically presented alms packages to representatives of two foundations as a show of support for orphans and Islamic students memorising the Qur’an.
Sylvia acknowledged that not everyone has equal opportunity to experience happiness during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Therefore, the company endeavours to introduce activities that can bring happiness whilst providing motivation to children pursuing religious education.
