Lemkapi: Polri's Success in Managing Eid Exodus Demonstrates Commitment to Public Service
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) states that the success of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in managing the Eid al-Fitr exodus and return traffic in 2026 demonstrates the Bhayangkara Corps’ commitment to public service.
“The success in smoothing the Eid exodus and return traffic shows that Polri is present to provide good service to the public. Polri is able to deliver comfortable, fast, and responsive service, making the public feel safe during their journeys,” said Lemkapi Director Edi Hasibuan in Jakarta on Thursday.
He also stated that Polri’s presence at various security and service points has a significant impact on public perception.
“What the public feels is that Polri is present to provide fast service and make the public feel comfortable. This is an important indicator of the success of Operation Ketupat,” he said.
He further mentioned that during the implementation of Operation Ketupat, Polri received many positive responses from the public.
This is reflected in the increasing public trust in the police institution in providing protection, guidance, and service.
“This is a good note and must be maintained going forward,” he said.
With this achievement, Edi said, Polri is expected to continue improving the quality of public service, especially in securing major moments involving massive public mobility, such as the Eid exodus and return traffic.
Previously, a survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia recorded that Polri posts achieved a satisfaction rate of 84 per cent, covering security functions, information centres, and rest areas for travellers.
“The majority of travellers felt satisfied with the facilities and services during this year’s Eid exodus and return traffic; travellers were most satisfied with the provision of Polri posts for security, information centres, and rest services for the public during the exodus and return,” said Lead Researcher at Indikator Politik Indonesia, Rizka Halida.
In addition to Polri posts, fuel availability also received positive ratings with a satisfaction rate of 81.7 per cent, followed by public transportation services at 79.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, traffic engineering on toll roads, such as the one-way system and contraflow, was rated satisfactory by 77.6 per cent of respondents, and traffic management on non-toll roads at 76.1 per cent.
These findings align with the overall public satisfaction rate for the mudik organisation at 80.8 per cent, as well as the assessment by around 81 per cent of respondents that this year’s mudik traffic management was better than the previous year.
