KCIC on standby with hundreds of CCTV cameras and special lockers to anticipate lost items
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has prepared more than 1,000 surveillance cameras or CCTV, along with special lockers for lost and found items, to anticipate belongings left behind by passengers on Whoosh as well as in station areas.
“Because the recording is also quite good, we have more than 1,700 CCTV cameras. So if there are left-behind items, they can be found by staff or reported, so it’s definitely safe,” said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti when met at KCIC Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Thursday.
Emir stated that KCIC has provided lost and found lockers containing passengers’ lost items.
Passengers who feel they have lost something can contact the call centre at 0811-8888-111 or go to station staff who are on standby to directly view the left-behind items.
Emir mentioned that water bottles (tumblers) and tote bags (goodie bags) are the most frequently left behind on the Whoosh train during journeys.
“The most common are water bottles and handbags like plastic bags or goodie bags that are usually left behind,” he said.
Therefore, KCIC always reminds passengers to keep their carry-on items secure during the journey until leaving the location.
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded an increase in Whoosh passenger volume of around 11.3 per cent, reaching 224,827 passengers during the 2026 Eid transport period from 13-25 March.
This figure is an increase compared to the same period in 2025, which reached 202,007 passengers.
Then, the temporary peak of the 2026 Eid transport occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with a volume of 24,315 passengers in one day.
KCIC provides convenience for passengers who wish to reschedule with a maximum of 15 minutes after the departure schedule. Then, the opportunity for refunds a maximum of two hours before departure.
The Whoosh high-speed train is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed train operating at speeds of up to 350 km/h and serving the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon.
