PLN Director Emphasises Resilience and Consistency as Keys to Success

Director General of PT PLN (Persero), Darmawan Prasodjo, stressed that success in life is not determined by intelligence, strength or speed, but by resilience and consistency when facing challenges.

Darmawan delivered this message whilst motivating students in the Work-Binding Scheme at the PLN Institute of Technology (ITPLN) campus in Jakarta. “The winners in life are not the cleverest, not the strongest, and not the fastest. The winners are those who can endure under any circumstances, remain steadfast, possess wisdom, and continue moving forward,” he said on Monday, 16 March.

He explained that life and career journeys often present complex problems. In such conditions, the ability to resolve issues wisely and possess resilience becomes the key to success. “My message is that you will come to understand that the winner among you is not the cleverest, not the strongest, not the fastest. Rather, the winners will be those of you with patience and endurance,” he added.

Darmawan emphasised istiqomah (steadfastness) as an important principle in life. According to him, within every difficulty there is ease, so long as a person has the strength to continue the process and not stop moving forward.

On this occasion, Darmawan also expressed appreciation for his presence at the ITPLN campus alongside ITPLN Rector Iwa Garniwa. He also extended Ramadan greetings to all members of the academic community. “May God grant all of you strength so that your efforts succeed well. May you pursue high, beneficial knowledge that makes us all proud. May you achieve professional careers and thriving family lives filled with happiness. And may you succeed with blessings in this world and the hereafter,” he concluded.

ITPLN Opens Second Wave of Student Admissions

Separately, ITPLN Rector Prof Iwa Garniwa announced the reopening of new student admissions (PMB) Wave 2 until 1 April 2026.

In this admissions cycle, the energy transition campus continues to open the PLN Group Work-Binding Scheme, which offers an integrated educational pathway with the electricity industry, along with career opportunities at PLN Group upon graduation.

Beyond PLN Group, ITPLN will also prepare the Work-Binding programme with the Indonesian Cooling and Air Conditioning Practitioners Association (APITU) and is exploring a Work-Binding programme with the Indonesian Power Generators Association (APLSI).

“We must be able to compete and collaborate on the international stage, yet remain steadfast in our values of ethics, integrity and nationalism. ITPLN consistently strengthens the new ENERGI+ cultural values framework, which encompasses Ethics, Nationalism, Excellence, Responsibility, Global perspective, and Innovation,” he stated.

The second wave of PMB admissions runs from 20 February to 1 April 2026. This scheme targets prospective students wishing to pursue the energy sector, particularly electricity and renewable energy, as well as technology and infrastructure sectors with a global competitive orientation.

The ITPLN Work-Binding programme is one of the leading pathways as it combines academic education, industry training, internships within PLN Group, and competency certification aligned with workplace needs. ITPLN also provides various scholarship schemes to broaden access to higher education in the energy field.

Registration is conducted online through the official website www.infopmb.itpln.ac.id. Prospective students are advised to pay attention to the schedule and requirements to avoid missing this opportunity. At least 13 D3 and S1 programmes are available for selection, with tuition fees varying according to the chosen programme.

ITPLN will conduct file selection on 3 April 2026 to allow prospective students to participate in the PLN Group Work-Binding Selection process.

Diverse Scholarship Schemes Available

Andi Dahroni, Manager of Marketing and Admissions at ITPLN, explained that ITPLN provides various scholarship schemes, ranging from full and partial scholarships, academic and non-academic merit scholarships, scholarships for disadvantaged students, Quran memorisation scholarships, sports scholarships, scholarships for PLN employee children, KIP Kuliah (government tuition assistance), and cooperative scholarships with SOEs and PLN Group.

Academically, ITPLN applies the SMART 4-4-2 learning system. This scheme comprises 40% theory taught by academic lecturers, 40% problem-solving based learning guided by energy industry practitioners, and 20% field experience through guest lectures, industrial visits, and direct practice in the electricity sector and renewable energy.

“With this model, students are not only strong theoretically but also accustomed to facing real problems in the industry,” Andi said.
