The Jakarta Civil Registry and Population Agency (Dukcapil) is once again introducing an innovative service to facilitate the public. On Friday, April 10, 2026, all Dukcapil service counters will extend the operating hours for electronic ID (KTP-E) recording until 7:30 PM Western Indonesia Time.

The programme, titled “Jumat Petang,” is specifically designed to assist residents with high mobility who struggle to find time during regular working hours. Head of the Jakarta Dukcapil Agency, Denny Wahyu Haryanto, explained that this initiative is crucial, especially for services requiring physical presence.

“Although digital services are available, not all types of services can be conducted online, such as first-time KTP-E recording for residents aged 16-17 years,” said Denny, quoted from Antara on Thursday (April 9).

The “Jumat Petang” service is routinely held on the second Friday of each month at the Population Administration Service Units in sub-districts according to residents’ domicile.

Based on the Clean Population Data for the second semester of 2025, 182,412 souls in DKI Jakarta are recorded as mandatory for first-time KTP-E recording in 2026. However, the current realisation is still below 10 percent, with around 164,443 individuals yet to undergo recording.

“Through the Jumat Petang programme, the Jakarta Dukcapil Agency aims to reach this group,” added Denny.

For residents aged 16 and above, the recording includes facial photographs, biometrics, eye retina scans, and signatures. Required documents are the Family Card (KK) and Birth Certificate.

In addition to KTP-E recording, “Jumat Petang” also handles various other population administration matters.

As a proactive approach, Jakarta Dukcapil also provides SAPA (Saturday Population Administration Service) on the third week of each month, as well as direct visit services to schools, residential areas, and offices.
