East Java Personnel Agency Chief Questioned by KPK as Witness in Ponorogo Job-Selling Case
Head of the East Java Regional Personnel Agency Questioned by the KPK as a Witness in the Ponorogo Job-Selling Case The Head of the Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) of East Java Province, Indah Wahyuni, confirmed that she was questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Indah stated that she was questioned by the KPK as an expert witness and was asked for information regarding the alleged job-selling case in Ponorogo Regency. “I would like to clarify that I was questioned as a witness, and I could even be considered an expert witness because the questions were related to regulations. There is no connection to the job-selling case,” Indah said in Surabaya on Tuesday (24 February). Indah explained that the questioning took place twice, once in Jakarta and once at the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) in Madiun. During the questioning, the investigators’ questions were related to the provisions for the appointment of directors of regional hospitals who come from employees of the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD). In this case, the KPK has named four suspects, namely the Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko, the Regional Secretary of Ponorogo, Agus Pramono, the Director of the Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Regional Hospital, Yunus Mahatma, and Sucipto, who is a contractor for the Dr. Harjono Regional Hospital. Indah said that the explanations she provided referred to several regulations, including provisions regarding the appointment of professional staff within the BLUD. In addition, KPK investigators also asked about the evaluation letter from the Government Organization Bureau of the East Java Province regarding the regent’s regulation on the organisation and working procedures of regional hospitals. The letter refers to the provisions regarding regional devices and the organisational structure of hospitals. Indah emphasised that the evaluation letter only relates to regulations, not a recommendation for the dismissal of specific officials. She also said that all the documents she brought during the questioning were seized by investigators as evidence for the trial. “All the documents I brought related to the regulations were seized as evidence. So it is not true that it is related to the allegation of job-selling,” she said. Indah regretted the circulation of information on social media stating that she was involved in the job-selling practice and was questioned by the KPK. According to her, the information is not factual and has the potential to cause misunderstandings in the public. She added that a position is a trust that must be maintained and accounted for. She leaves the assessment entirely to the governor as the Personnel Supervisor. “For me, a position is a trust. There is no permanent position. I will not betray the trust that has been given,” she said. (frd/kid)[Gambas:Video CNN]
