Difference! Transjabodetabek Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Airport Route Features Luggage Space
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has launched the Transjabodetabek service on the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta (SH2) airport route. Buses on this route are equipped with dedicated luggage space and will stop at three airport terminals.
As observed, the Transjabodetabek SH2 bus on the Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta route differs noticeably from other Transjakarta buses. There is a dedicated space for storing passenger luggage, located near the middle door and marked with a yellow iron barrier.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the buses were designed to accommodate the needs of passengers travelling through the airport.
“The bus is different; the deck is lower because there are three points at the airport where it must stop. And inside the bus itself, there is space for storing luggage,” Pramono said at the Blok M Terminal in South Jakarta on Thursday (12 March 2026).
However, Pramono cautioned that the luggage space in the bus has limitations. If passengers have a considerable amount of luggage, some items may need to remain with passengers on their seats.
“Of course, when people travel, they tend to have quite a lot of luggage, and not all of it will be able to have a dedicated space. So some luggage will remain with passengers,” he explained.
The Blok M-Soekarno-Hatta Transjabodetabek route is operated with 14 buses serving journeys from 05:00 to 22:00 West Indonesian Time. Bus arrivals are estimated at intervals of between 10 and 20 minutes.
In addition to the airport, buses will also stop at various points in Jakarta, ranging from Blok M Terminal to the Senayan area and the MPR/DPR building before proceeding to the airport area. The governor hopes this service will serve as an affordable transportation alternative to Soekarno-Hatta Airport whilst helping reduce private vehicle usage.
