Details of Mass Tyre Burst Incidents on Jagorawi Toll Road
Several vehicles experienced tyre bursts while travelling on the Jagorawi Toll Road. The incident, which subsequently went viral on social media, was caused by damage to the road surface.
In the circulating video, the event is said to have occurred on Thursday (30/4). At that time, tow truck operators and police were already present at the scene.
In his statement, Senior Manager Representative Office 1 of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, Alvin Andituahta Singarimbun, said that his team immediately conducted checks. Jasa Marga also apologised for the incident.
“Initial reports from road users were received around 17:40 WIB. Upon receiving this information, officers immediately conducted route tracing and inspections of the pavement condition to ensure the safety and comfort of road users’ journeys,” said Alvin in his statement on Friday (1/5/2026).
Cause of Tyre Bursts
Based on the inspection results, officers found eight points of roadwork damage. The damage around the incident location had the potential to disrupt road users’ comfort.
“In follow-up to these findings, JMTM immediately carried out temporary repairs at several locations due to the ongoing rain on the Jagorawi Toll Road,” said Alvin Andituahta Singarimbun.
Temporary repairs were carried out at night so that the route conditions could return to optimal and be traversable before permanent repairs were undertaken.
“In addition to handling the pavement points, mobile customer service officers, tow trucks, and JMTO service fleets were also on standby to assist road users experiencing issues in the field and to ensure traffic flow remained maintained,” he added.
Operator to Compensate for Losses
The toll operator is prepared to compensate for the losses stemming from the tyre burst incident involving several vehicles on the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Bogor a few days ago. Affected road users will be contacted.
“As a form of responsibility, we have also contacted the affected road users and collected the necessary data as part of the claims process for compensation for vehicle damage experienced by road users,” said Senior General Manager of JMT Regional Division, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, on Saturday (2/5/2026).

He said they would continue to monitor the repair work results. This is done to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
