Deputy Chief of Police: Indonesian National Police Must Work Involving Brain, Muscle, and Heart
The Deputy Chief of Police made this statement while closing the Technical Work Meeting (Rakernis) of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate for 2026 at the Aula Awaloedin Djamin on the 9th floor of the Bareskrim Polri Building in Jakarta on Friday (8/5/2026).
“Polri must work by involving O2H, namely brain, muscle, and especially heart in legal conscience,” said Komjen Dedi.
According to him, this concept emphasises that every Polri personnel is not only required to have technical capabilities and firmness in law enforcement but must also prioritise empathy, justice, and sensitivity towards society.
He explained that Polri’s law enforcement must present three main aspects, namely legal certainty, justice, and benefit to society.
On that occasion, Komjen Dedi also expressed thanks and appreciation to all levels of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate from headquarters, provincial police, district police, to sub-district police for their dedication and achievements in law enforcement that have provided real benefits to society.
“Thank you and appreciation to all levels of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate for carrying out law enforcement duties, protection, guidance, and service to the public that have been carried out well,” he said.
He revealed many extraordinary achievements that have been achieved by the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate throughout Indonesia in maintaining security stability and supporting the government’s Asta Cita programme.
He also conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto has given appreciation for Polri’s contributions in supporting various national strategic programmes, including food security, energy, and other government priority programmes.
In addition, Komjen Dedi also appreciated the implementation of the 2026 Polri Criminal Investigation Rakernis which featured multi and interdisciplinary speakers with discussions touching on technical, tactical, strategic aspects, field experiences, to strengthening the integrity, faith, and piety of personnel.
The forum group discussion (FGD) and field practice literacy conducted during the Rakernis were also seen as important steps in strengthening the quality of law enforcement and addressing various future task challenges.
He said that based on the analysis of public complaints in 2026, public attention to law enforcement is still largely at the regional level from sub-district police, district police to provincial police. Therefore, he asked the ranks to strengthen the quality of services and internal supervision.
“When district police and sub-district police face obstacles, the provincial police must be present to provide assistance. Likewise, when the provincial police face hurdles, the National Police Headquarters is responsible for providing support,” he emphasised.
Furthermore, Komjen Dedi also asked all ranks to increase sensitivity in handling women’s and children’s cases (PPA), strengthen investigator professionalism, and maintain integrity in every law enforcement process.
According to him, the caseload handled by investigators is currently quite high, averaging 25 to 50 cases per year, so the improvement in the quality and quantity of investigators continues to be maximised by the Bareskrim Polri.
Ahead of Bhayangkara Day, he also asked all ranks of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate to maintain the achievements that have been achieved, strengthen professionalism, and minimise all forms of violations in all work units.
“The quality of law enforcement and service to the public must continue to be strengthened so that the presence of Polri is truly felt to be beneficial by society,” he concluded.
