Danantara Targets Rp 518.74 Trillion Energy Investment in Singapore, ASEAN's Largest Solar Panel Project
Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara, Pandu Sjahrir, explained that the Badan Pengelola Investasi (BPI) is targeting a renewable energy cooperation project in Singapore.
The investment value for the project reaches Rp 518.74 trillion, equivalent to US$30 billion.
This project involves collaboration on developing solar panel infrastructure and cross-border transmission networks.
This investment will not only impact Singapore but will directly benefit Indonesia.
Danantara is involved in building the Indonesia-Singapore transmission line.
However, it is currently still in the discussion stage, including how the cooperation scheme will be realised.
Several private companies have already reached agreements with Singapore beforehand.
“Because the desire (for RI-Singapore cooperation) can also bring a lot of value to Indonesia, and we will also have to make those solar panels. Later, we will definitely produce for Indonesia as well. So there are many added values,” he explained.
The education sector, food security, industrial downstreaming, and the utilisation of waste as energy are part of efforts for sustainable economic transformation, which is a priority programme of the government.
“In that limited meeting, the President discussed accelerating the implementation of national strategic programmes, including in the fields of education, food security, industrial downstreaming, and the utilisation of waste as energy,” explained Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya on Thursday (16/4/2026).
It is hoped that accelerating the government’s priority programmes will bring prosperity to all Indonesian people.
“This meeting is a strategic step in following up on the strengthening of cooperation between Indonesia and partner countries, while also encouraging cross-sector synergy to support economic growth and equitable national development in the future,” Teddy stated.
