Clean Indonesia Movement: Serang Police Plant 3,000 Trees on Idle Land
Serang Police planted 3,000 trees in an area of idle land belonging to PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP) in Tegal Maja Village, Kragilan Subdistrict. The tree planting was carried out to support the Clean Indonesia Movement (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful).
The planted land area is approximately 2.7 hectares owned by PT IKPP. A total of 3,000 trees were planted, consisting of various types such as teak, sengon, and mahogany, which have high ecological and economic value.
Chief of Serang Police AKBP Andri Kurniawan stated that tree planting is a concrete form of support from Serang Police for the government’s programme in preserving the environment.
“This is an effort by Serang Police to support President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita programme in environmental preservation, while strengthening synergy between the National Police and local government officials and the community,” said Andri on Friday (24/4/2026).
Andri hopes that the tree planting will increase public awareness of the importance of protecting the living environment from an early age.
“The success of the environmental preservation programme cannot be achieved alone, but requires collaboration between government, police, private sector, and the community,” he said.
Meanwhile, Banten Provincial Police Chief Irjen Hengki expressed appreciation for the initiative and hard work of the Serang Police personnel in successfully carrying out the activity.
“I appreciate the Chief of Serang Police and all personnel who have contributed to preserving nature. This is a very positive concrete step,” Hengki stated.
Hengki reminded the public not to litter indiscriminately and to continue maintaining the cleanliness of the surrounding environment.
“We invite all communities to jointly succeed the Clean Indonesia Movement for a better environmental future,” he said.
