The event was attended by dozens of Chinese businessmen who have invested in Indonesia. At the occasion, Ahmad Luthfi expressed appreciation for the organisation of the event. He also invited the entrepreneurs to visit Central Java. The invitation reflected the province’s openness to investment.
For 2025, investment in Central Java reached Rp110.02 trillion, comprising foreign direct investment (FDI) Rp50.86 trillion, domestic investment (PMDN) Rp37.64 trillion, and UMK Rp21.52 trillion. Meanwhile, in Q1 2026 investment had risen to Rp23.02 trillion with economic growth of 5.89%.
There are currently around seven industrial and special economic zones spread across several districts and cities. In addition, twelve regions are preparing new industrial and special economic zones to support investment and the equitable distribution of the economy.
“China is one of the countries with the highest investment in Central Java, amounting to around Rp10.13 trillion,” he said in a written statement on Saturday (23 May 2026).
At the event held on Friday (22 May), Luthfi conveyed Central Java’s seriousness in developing the renewable energy economy (EBT) and waste management. Central Java has around seven projects ready to be offered to investors in the EBT sector. These include solar photovoltaic (PLTS), micro-hydro, biogas, biomass, swamp gas (gas rawa), waste-to-energy, and geothermal.
“We are opening wide opportunities for investment in waste processing in Central Java, which will assist our renewable energy efforts,” he said.
Meanwhile, Cu Longhua, CEO of PT WOOK Global Technology, said the meeting of entrepreneurs from various industries needed to be expanded further. The companies present offer high-quality industrial resources that are highly compatible and can be applied deeply, encompassing ecological protection and compacted solid waste resources, using mining for ecological restoration, the new energy industry, digital technology, high-end manufacturing, and modern agriculture.
“Currently, President Prabowo is actively promoting waste management, including turning it into electricity. We are a leading company in this sector in China,” he said.
Then, Benjamin Pan, CEO of PT AAC Technologies Holding, said that as one of Southeast Asia’s largest economies, Indonesia offers a broad market, an excellent development environment, and enormous growth potential. “We see limitless collaboration possibilities,” he said.
