BRI becomes largest contributor to National Housing Programme credit disbursement
Jakarta – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, commonly known as BRI, continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner to the government in expanding access to affordable housing finance for the public.
This commitment is realised through optimisation of Housing Programme Credit (KPP) disbursement as part of support for the 3 Million Homes Programme and the inclusive and sustainable housing sector development agenda.
Throughout 2026, BRI has recorded positive performance in KPP disbursement. From early January to the end of February, BRI has absorbed KPP allocations totalling IDR 2.30 trillion distributed to 17,443 borrowers. This realisation has reached 28.75 per cent of the 2026 KPP disbursement target of IDR 8 trillion.
This achievement positions BRI as the bank with the highest KPP disbursement nationally, with a contribution of approximately 52.2 per cent of total national KPP disbursement. This dominance affirms BRI’s commitment and consistency in supporting government programmes in the housing sector.
BRI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that optimisation of KPP disbursement is part of the corporation’s strategy to expand inclusive and sustainable financing access.
“The KPP disbursement target of IDR 8 trillion in 2026 is supported by BRI’s fundamental strengths, ranging from a large customer base to a service network that reaches the remotest areas of Indonesia. Thus, housing sector finance, including for small and medium enterprise actors in the construction supply chain, can be channelled more equitably and effectively,” Gunardi said.
Gunardi added that strengthening financing in the housing sector focuses not only on the consumption side but also on the production side. By supporting building material business operators, small-scale contractors and distributors in regions, KPP is expected to create a sustainable housing ecosystem whilst boosting local economic leverage.
Appreciation for BRI’s performance was also conveyed by the Minister of Housing and Settlement (PKP) Maruarar Sirait. He emphasised that BRI’s role is highly strategic in ensuring the success of the people’s housing programme, including optimisation of Housing Credit/KPP.
“I convey gratitude and appreciation to BRI for its commitment in ensuring that Housing Credit is absorbed very well. To date, BRI is the largest distributor bank for Housing Credit. BRI’s role and support are certainly very strategic in strengthening the people’s housing programme. Thank you, Director,” Sirait said.
KPP is an investment and working capital financing facility that receives government subsidies, aimed at driving the economic wheel and UMKM activities from both supply and demand sides, particularly in the building materials and construction sectors. This scheme not only supports home ownership for the public but also creates a multiplier effect that drives regional economic growth.
BRI will continue to accelerate KPP disbursement whilst prioritising prudential principles, good governance and measured risk management. Through this approach, BRI is optimistic about maintaining its position as the national leader in KPP disbursement whilst reaffirming its role as a bank that consistently provides financial solutions for the public and supports Indonesia’s sustainable economic development.
