Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The state-owned bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) recorded a net profit of Rp 15.5 trillion throughout the first quarter of 2026. This achievement represents a 13.74% increase year-on-year (yoy).

According to its financial report, BRI’s interest income rose 5.94% yoy to Rp 52.83 trillion. In line with this growth, interest expenses decreased by 9.31% to Rp 12.68 trillion.

In its intermediation function, BRI disbursed total credit and financing amounting to Rp 1,562 trillion, up 13.7% yoy in the first quarter of 2026. The disbursement of People’s Business Credit (KUR) reached Rp 47.09 trillion, benefiting 947,000 customers. BRI also provided housing financing liquidity facilities (FLPP) worth Rp 17.13 trillion to 125,000 loan customers.

Alongside this growth, credit quality declined, as reflected in the gross non-performing loan (NPL) ratio, which rose to 3.31%. Meanwhile, the net NPL also increased to 1.01%.

In terms of funding, BRI successfully mobilised third-party funds (DPK) of Rp 1,555 trillion, growing 9.4% yoy. The composition of low-cost funds, or CASA, reached 68.1%.

The loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) increased to 87.66% as of the first quarter of 2026.

BRI’s total assets grew 7.2% yoy to Rp 2,205 trillion as of March 2026.
