BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Encourages Workers to Take Advantage of 50% Reduction in JKK and JKM Contributions
The Director of Membership at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Agung Nugroho, is encouraging informal workers or Non-Wage Recipients (BPU) to take advantage of the 50% reduction in contributions for the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefit Insurance (JKM) programmes, which will apply until December 2026.
Agung explained that this programme forms part of President Prabowo’s Asta Cita, particularly in strengthening human resource development by safeguarding workers’ purchasing power and welfare levels, as well as accelerating inclusive and sustainable economic growth through social security participation for BPU workers.
This step aligns with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s focus on expanding membership coverage (Coverage), ensuring comprehensive protection (Care), and strengthening public trust (Credibility) in the employment social security programmes.
“This is proof that the state cares deeply about protecting all Indonesian workers, especially those in the informal sector. Let’s seize this opportunity so that no worker is left behind and works without protection,” said Agung.
This contribution reduction applies to all BPU workers who register as independent participants with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, whether new participants or those already actively registered. Workers only need to pay Rp8,400 per month during the period from April to December 2026. Thus, for workers wishing to utilise the contribution reduction for 9 months (April–December), they only need to pay a total of Rp75,600.
Agung assured that there will be no reduction in the quality of services provided by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to participants. The benefits received remain intact, including work accident compensation of up to Rp70 million, medical treatment for work accidents without cost limits according to medical needs, death benefits of up to Rp42 million, and education scholarships for up to two children worth a maximum of Rp174 million.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Rawamangun Branch Office of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Ferry Yuniawan, also urged the public, especially informal sector workers in his area, to immediately take advantage of this programme.
“We urge informal sector workers not to delay in obtaining employment social security protection. With the current very affordable contributions, the benefits obtained are far greater and very important as protection against work risks and life risks,” said Ferry.
He also added that his office continues to conduct extensive socialisation to ensure more workers understand the importance of becoming active participants in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Registration and contribution payments for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan are now even easier and can be done through various channels, including the JMO (Jamsostek Mobile) application, the official BPJS Ketenagakerjaan website, and various payment partners such as Indomaret, Alfamart, Pos offices, banking agents, e-commerce, digital wallets, and other cooperating payment channels.
“We remain committed to providing employment social security protection for all Indonesian workers. This protection is essential so that workers can work safely, productively, and prosperously, thereby contributing to realising Golden Indonesia 2045,” Agung concluded.
