A total of 26,692 combined personnel have been mobilised for the Ketupat Lodaya 2026 operation. West Java Police Chief (Kapolda) Rudi Setiawan stated that the combined personnel come from the provincial police headquarters (Polda), district police offices (Polres), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and other relevant agencies.

The breakdown comprises 2,440 personnel from the West Java Police, 12,657 personnel from district police offices, and 11,595 personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces and various other agencies.

“With the involvement of tens of thousands of personnel, it is hoped that the security of holiday travel and return journeys during Eid al-Fitr in West Java can proceed safely, smoothly, and harmoniously,” Rudi stated in a written statement on Friday, 13 March 2026.

He made these remarks during a Multi-Sectoral Coordination Meeting for the Ketupat Lodaya 2026 operation at the Traffic Management Directorate Auditorium of the West Java Police headquarters in Bandung on Tuesday, 10 March.

The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) fully supports the implementation of the Ketupat Lodaya 2026 operation to ensure smooth holiday travel and return journeys during Eid al-Fitr.

West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan hopes that all stakeholders involved in the Ketupat Lodaya 2026 operation will strengthen coordination across various sectors, ranging from traffic management to public services.

Several priorities for the Ketupat Lodaya 2026 operation include traffic management and engineering on major holiday routes, readiness of road infrastructure, and security at crowded areas such as places of worship, bus terminals, train stations, ports, and tourist destinations.

Erwan also emphasised the importance of healthcare service readiness and disaster mitigation, including the provision of weather information to the public.

“Updates on data and public outreach regarding weather conditions for those planning holiday travel must be conducted properly, on both daily and hourly bases. This will enable the public to determine safe travel times,” Erwan said.

Additionally, the government will ensure the availability of essential commodities, energy, and other public services during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

“Inshaallah we will continue to conduct inspections, not only regarding holiday travel but also the availability of essential commodities, energy, and other public services,” Erwan stated.

Erwan explained that West Java has the largest population in Indonesia, with a total of approximately 50.7 million people. Of this figure, approximately 97.3% or more than 49 million people are Muslim, making West Java one of the main transit routes for holiday travellers every year.

Erwan noted that these conditions present unique challenges in managing traffic, security, public order, and public services during the Eid holiday period.

Based on data presented at the meeting, approximately 21.52% of national holiday travellers, or around 30.97 million people, originate from West Java and travel outside the province.

Meanwhile, holiday travellers entering West Java are estimated to reach 15.90%, or approximately 25.09 million people.
