Foreign oil drilling vessel can still operate
Some foreign-owned vessels, including oil drilling vessels, will be exempt from the law on cabotage until May, Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi says. The temporary exclusion from the law, which restricts foreign-owned vessels from operating in Indonesia’s waters, would support the government’s oil production target, Freddy said. Indonesia Verifies Issue on Bicycle Exports
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Trade Minister is cooperating with the European Union to clear issues on bicycle product circumvention. “There are assumptions that bicycles from China are being exported to Europe through Indonesia,” said Ernawati, the Trade Ministry’s Trade Security director, in Jakarta yesterday. Circumvention is the imposition of one-sided additional duties on exported products.

Indonesia Government Plans to Finalize Land Reform Law by End of Year
Jakarta. A draft bill to regulate land acquisition for public projects was sent to the president last week and would reach the legislature before the end of the year, the head of the National Land Agency said on Wednesday. Indonesia's domestic coal sales to hurt future exports
JAKARTA, Nov 24 (Reuters) - Indonesia's requirement for miners to sell more coal for the domestic market may squeeze supply within the next three to four years as domestic demand rises and production capacity is struggling to expand as quickly, officials said on Wednesday. A potential cut in supply from the world's top thermal coal exporter could keep coal prices high in the future amid strong demand from Asian countries, particularly China and India.

Pertamina Develops Geothermal Electricity

Indonesian vice president calls for reform on bureaucracy

Bengkulu to build dockyard
Bengkulu (ANTARA News) - The regional government of Bangkulu province is planning to build a dockyard at Pulau Baai port in an effort to increase its income from the port services sector, a local official said. "We are planning to build a dockyard and other facilities at Pulau Baai seaport area so that the regional government would obtain an income from the port service sector," Head of Transportation Service of Bengkulu, Ali Berti said here on Wednesday.

Domestic bicycle production expected to reach 3.5 mln next year
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Domestic bicycle production is expected to reach a record high of 3.5 million next year after several bicycle makers plan to raise their production capacity, a spokesman said. The annual domestic bicycle production which now reached less than 2 million units still fell short of the market demand, Chairman of the Indonesian Bicycle Producers Association (AIPI) Prihadi said here on Wednesday.
