Aceh to intensify tourism promotion

Banda Aceh, Aceh Province (ANTARA News) - Aceh Province will intensify promotion of its tourist objects by launching Visit Banda Aceh Year 2011. Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik is expected to launch Visit Banda Aceh Year 2011 on October 19, 2011, according to Reza Fahlevi, head of the Aceh provincial cultural and tourism office, here Friday. The preparations for the launching have been made since a month ago, and Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf is expected to be present in the upcoming vent.

Kadin supports East Java-West Australia sister province cooperation

Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - East Java`s Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) fully supports a "Sister Province" cooperation between East Java and Western Australia. "The cooperation has a positive impact on both sides, especially the increase in East Java economic growth," Kadin spokesman Adri Istambul Lingga Gayo said here on Friday. Indonesian gov't must manage heavy capital inflow well: economist

JAKARTA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government must manage recent heavy capital inflow to the country well, considering that parts of it are hot money that could fly away anytime, posing danger for economy, a bank executive told Xinhua in an exclusive interview on Thursday. Anton Gunawan, executive vice president and chief economist of publicly listed Bank Danamon Indonesia, said that the capital inflow could be divided into hot money and long-term investment.

RI urged to enhance trade relations with Taiwan

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia has been urged to maintain and even enhance economic and trade relations with Taiwan despite its ever stronger economic relations with the People`s Republic of China. "We need to make a distinction between economic and political matters as the two (China and Taiwan) have basic differences that need to be understood," said Sofyan Wanandi, chairman of Indonesian Businessmen`s Association (Apindo), in an interview with ANTARA News Thursday.

Govt to boost oil output to achieve target

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government will boost its oil production in an effort to meet the assumption as set in the 2010 revised budget at 965,000 barrels per day, a cabinet minister said. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Darwin Saleh said here on Thursday that his side would hold a coordinative meeting to discuss breakthroughs for raising oil output. "We will find which wells which still could produce more in the near future," the minister said.
