VP celebrates daughter's marriage JAKARTA: Vice President Hamzah Haz threw a grand wedding reception for his daughter, Mirna Yuminar, on Saturday, attended by thousands of guests. President Megawati Soekarnoputri, her husband Taufik Kiemas and Cabinet ministers were among attendants of the wedding ball held under tight security at Sasono Langen Budoyo hall in the Taman Mini Indonesia Park compound. Mirna is married to Muhammad Rizky, the son of a businessman from South Sulawesi.

A similar feeling occurred to me on a four-day trip to Hong Kong two weeks ago, just as Typhoon Imbudo swept into town. It was the biggest storm to hit the region in five years, and the first typhoon to threaten Hong Kong this year.

Alleged kidnapper nabbed in Ambon Police arrested on Saturday a third suspect in the kidnapping of eight-year-old Muhamad Hegel Muthahhari. The man, identified as Taher Lestaluhu, 45, was taken into custody in Ambon and flown immediately to Jakarta, Elshinta radio reported. According to police reports, Taher admitted to involvement in the kidnapping, but denied being the mastermind. Police arrested Taher's wife, Nurul Lestaluhu, on Friday at a house on Jl. Luar Batang in North Jakarta.
