The Investment Management Body for Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara) has appointed Chinese firm Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co., Ltd. as the management partner for a Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) facility in Greater Bogor. The corporation was previously appointed to manage a similar PSEL facility in Denpasar, Bali.

Pandu Patria Sjahrir, Chief Investment Officer of Danantara, stated that the partnership signing represents an important step towards realising an integrated waste management solution based on good governance and the highest operational standards.

“The selected partner is expected to maintain consistent operational performance, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and support engagement with surrounding communities,” Pandu said in a written statement on Friday, 13 March 2026.

According to Pandu, the Greater Bogor facility has been developed with strong operational reliability, responsible environmental management, and collaboration and technology transfer with local stakeholders. Danantara remains committed to strong governance, with transparent implementation processes based on risk mitigation.

The PSEL facility aims to reduce waste volumes ending up in final disposal sites (TPA). This initiative is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate to Danantara to establish a waste-to-energy programme.

Zhejiang Weiming Environment Protection Co., Ltd., the appointed company, was previously included in a shortlist of 24 candidates for the position of Waste Processing Developer and Management Body based on Environmentally Friendly Technology Converting Waste to Electricity (BUPP PSEL). The selection process, which began in 2025, originally attracted 200 interested applicants.

Pandu stated that companies appointed to manage PSEL facilities are required to form a consortium to involve local corporations in the project. “To promote technology transfer and closer collaboration with regional governments and Indonesian companies,” he said.
