The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that Indonesia’s economy grew 5.61 percent (year-on-year/yoy) in the first quarter of 2026, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant market prices reaching Rp3,447.7 trillion and at current market prices recorded at Rp6,187.2 trillion.
“Supported by domestic economic activities, Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.61 percent in the first quarter of 2026,” said BPS Chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti in Jakarta on Tuesday.
KUR Disbursement to Micro Enterprises Reaches Rp70 Trillion by May 2026
Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Maman Abdurrahman stated that the disbursement of People’s Business Credit (KUR) to the micro-business sector reached approximately Rp70 trillion by 3 May 2026, out of a total KUR realisation of Rp96 trillion.
“From the total KUR allocation of Rp96 trillion as of 3 May 2026, around Rp70 trillion was channelled to the micro-business sector,” Maman said, quoted from an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Finance Minister: Government Prepares Incentives for Electric Cars and Motorcycles
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government will prepare incentives for electric vehicles (EV), detailing 100,000 units each for cars and electric motorcycles this year.
“The first 100,000, if they run out, we will provide more (incentives). The scheme will be explained by the Minister of Industry (Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita), and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Airlangga Hartarto) will also detail it. The same applies to electric motorcycles; we will provide the first 100,000,” said Finance Minister Purbaya during the APBN KiTa press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.
State Revenue Rp574.9 T, Budget Deficit 0.93 Percent in Q1
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reported that state revenue collected amounted to Rp574.9 trillion and state expenditure absorbed Rp815 trillion, resulting in a State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) deficit of Rp240.1 trillion or 0.93 percent of GDP as of 31 March 2026.
“The deficit reached Rp240.1 trillion or 0.93 percent of GDP,” said Purbaya during the APBN KiTa Edition April 2026 press conference at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
BPS Reports Unemployment Falls to 7.24 Million People
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that the number of unemployed in Indonesia reached 7.24 million people in February 2026, out of a total workforce of 154.91 million people.
