Xiaomi Begins Rolling Out Android 17 Beta with HyperOS 3.3, Here Are the Affected Phones
Xiaomi has begun rolling out the Android 17 Beta operating system update in its Developer Preview version to a number of selected devices. This update comes directly equipped with the HyperOS 3.3 user interface, without going through the intermediate HyperOS 3.2 version. This update leap is considered unusual, as updates are generally carried out gradually following the version sequence. It is possible that the jump to HyperOS 3.3 indicates that Xiaomi is providing quite significant improvements, not just minor updates. However, it is not yet known for certain whether the Chinese technology company will release HyperOS 3.2 at a later date as a minor update, or if it will be fully merged into HyperOS 3.3. Currently, availability is still limited to global variants. Xiaomi is expected to expand the availability of the Android 17 update to more devices in the next stage. As a Developer Preview version, this Android 17 Beta is still intended for developers and users who want to try new features early. However, because it is still in the development stage, this beta version has the potential to contain bugs, application compatibility issues, and features that are not yet fully stable. Therefore, users are advised to install it on a secondary device, not the primary one (daily driver). Users are also asked to back up data before starting the installation process to avoid the risk of complete data loss. Checking can be done through the Settings menu > About Phone. The following are the minimum firmware versions required for each device: If the phone device is still using an old version, users need to update to the latest stable version first through the Settings > Software Update menu.
