Worried
Worried
From Suara Karya
As a female employee working on Jl. Jenderal Sudirman, I feel
worried when I go to the office every day. On my way to work and
in the office I always think that something bad might happen; be
it a bomb blast, a demonstration leading to anarchy or other
forms of violence. All these make me feel even more frightened.
Recently, political outrage in this country has become more
heated. Conflicts among the political elite are intensifying. The
antagonism between the pro-President supporters and those wishing
to topple him is even more striking. There is an impression that
the President will not be able to carry out his duties because of
the various disturbing factors brought about by the parties who
distrust him.
I feel concerned if security and peace will prevail in this
country. Even now I still feel nervous and cannot work
efficiently for fear something horrible might happen near me.
I would like to call on the political elite to stop all forms
of quibbling that are capable of trigging an uproar. To the
parties who are funding the demonstrations we appeal that you
stop your unsympathetic moves. Be aware that your attitude only
worsens the situation. Frankly, I sometimes feel disgusted with
the demos which are not motivated by inner conscience but by a
certain amount of money paid to those demonstrators.
